The Kansas LIFE Project Caring Communities
The Caring Community Council in Liberal, KS, was formed out of community and industry systems that were interested in hearing what was important to the populace of Liberal. These individuals have backgrounds in health care, pastoral care, senior citizens' services, home-based services, funeral home care, library and educational services. Consumers of these services who have an interest in end-of-life care are also a part of this forum. They currently meet monthly and are available for presentations within the community. Please contact Linda Miller at (620) 629-6339 or email her at lmiller1@pld.com for more information. In addition to providing speakers for local groups, there is a resource section at the Memorial Library in Liberal for issues on end-of-life care, grief and loss. A copy of the Moyers PBS series, "On Our Own Terms," is also available for check-out. Resources in Seward County AIDS hotline 1-800-342-AIDS Alzheimer's
