Critical Issues in Care for Chronically and Terminally Ill Kansans
(PDF)

The LIFE Project's initiatives to improve quality of life for seriously ill Kansans focus on three important areas - public policy, public engagement and professional education. Strength in these three areas, LIFE believes, leads to quality of life for our citizens. Two of the LIFE Project task groups have been busy the past six months working to address public policy issues and assure that the needs and rights of Kansas citizens are protected.

The LIFE Project Pain Management Task Group, with primary leadership from co-chair Dr. Robert Twillman, Pain Management Program Director at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, is focused on improving pain management and access to pain management.

The LIFE Project Public Policy Task Group, under the leadership of Chairman John Carney, VP for Aging and End of Life at the Center for Practical Bioethics, Kansas City, is focused on assuring excellence in public policy that supports quality of life for all Kansans.

Sincere thanks are given to all who work together to support these vulnerable Kansans. The LIFE Project is a collaborative effort and we welcome the partnership and sharing of all Kansans.
